AlQuimia Movement

Alquimia Movement is a women-led choreographic project and dance company founded in 2024 by Alejandra Chen and Dalia Lopez, developed in parallel in Amsterdam and Mexico.

Rooted in Latin dance forms such as salsa and ballroom, the project combines choreography, physical theatre and storytelling to create works for stage and screen. Its process-based methodology focuses on research, improvisation and physical exploration, using the body as a space of transformation, empowerment and expression.

In Amsterdam, Alquimia Movement operates as a dance company under the artistic direction of Alejandra Chen and is based at Casa Alquimia, a creative studio dedicated to research, training and the development of choreographic and interdisciplinary projects.
